Social community network launches website to promote local businesses in North Essex
New Love Your DoorStep Braintree, Great Notley and surrounding areas community-listings site
Following the success of its Facebook group, social community network Love Your DoorStep is to launch a new Braintree, Great Notley and the surrounding areas community-listings website on Monday 13th May.
Set up after the August 2011 England riots, Love Your DoorStep has quickly evolved from an Enfield (North London) Facebook group. In August 2012 it launched an Enfield-based community-listing website, which was followed by the February 2013 launch of an App for the ipad, iphone and Android platforms (1). May 2013 saw the launch of Love Your DoorStep radio, which is available online and via the Shoutcast Radio App (2).
Following the success of its Enfield Facebook Group, which now has over 3,700 members, Love Your DoorStep has expanded into London, Hertfordshire, Suffolk and Essex. In addition to Great Notley, Love Your DoorStep Facebook groups have been set up in Haringey, Barnet, Islington, Hackney, Potters Bar, Bury St Edmunds, Epping and Loughton.
Prior to the Braintree website launch, Love Your DoorStep held a free business information event at The Essex Cricketers Pub in Great Notley Village (3). The event was used to explain how the social community network plans to work with local businesses, help bring back community spirit and connect local people directly with local goods and services.
Vicki McLellan, Love Your DoorStep Braintree Community Manager, said: âWe are overwhelmed by the support we have received from the local community in such a short space of time. Thanks to them, we now have 1000 members of the Braintree, Great Notley and the surrounding areas Facebook group.
âThe response and support from the members of Facebook Group just proves how much of a great community Braintree is, and the launch of the website will give us a whole new platform to bring the community together.
âLove Your DoorStep is very keen to work with Backing Braintree, Braintree Enterprise as well as market traders to ensure the future of Braintree's bustling High street and market square.â
Emma Rigby, Love Your DoorStep Founder and Director, said: âWe are very excited about launching the new Love Your DoorStep Braintree website. This is a first for Love Your DoorStep, in that we are expanding from our North London origins into North Essex. In future we are planning to move Love Your DoorStep into the West of the County.
âThe Braintree, Great Notley and Surrounding areas site is an interactive directory, and connects to the Love Your DoorStep Great Notley Facebook group. Itâs free for all charities and community groups, but most importantly, itâs now even easier for the people of Braintree and local businesses to come together to celebrate all that the Town has to offer in local services, shopping, events, food, going out and much more.â
